The weather for the most of April and May has been against me. With the rugby season over in grand style with Harlequins great victor on Saturday and a marked improvement in the weather I have been able to uncover the canoe and continue scraping the inside.
First off to scrape under the original seat not easy.
I have tried to scrap under the decks but this is quite tricky so have decided to brush out with a stiff wire brush to take any lose resin away. My intention is to varnish over these bits and hope that it adheres to the resin that I can’t reach to scrape. I could take the decks out which would be the best thing to do to get rid of the old resin but that might take me beyond my comfort zone in getting the canoe back together. As long as I can make it water tight that is the best I could do.
I’ve turned the canoe around now to start on the other side.
I am still hoping to have this canoe in the water by September or before if I can!!!

Do you mean Sept 2013 !
