Nearly there on finishing the scraping of the inside, on the last quarter now!!!
In a project like this, as you scrape away the layers of vanish and resin you discover new things. Reading about others who have restored old canoes they have talked about the serial number being stamped in the stem of the boat. This set me looking for the serial number in this boat, which at first I had missed altogether. But going over the stem more carefully I came across it
Number 29. Which could mean that this is an earlier boat than I first thought? My research continues on those days I can not work on the boat.
